31 May 2006
Jamie told me to go support and witness Dinesh 1 lap pr.
Dinesh's target is below 5:30, his previous pr is 5:42.
Was caught with last minute work.
But luckily by the time I got there they (Jamie, Dinesh, Aeow, Ronnie, Yong, Draco) were coming round the last bend.
Rohaizad was waiting near the finish line. I joined him and started cheering them on.
Jamie and Dinesh finished in a amazing time of 5:11!
Aeow ran 5:08 his previous pr is 5:15!
Ronnie ran 4:55 his previous pr is 5:06!
Yong ran 6:02 this is his 1st time trial.
Draco did 3 laps, but did not pr, I think.
Jamie ask me to go for my pr.
So I try lor, did 5:21 previous pr is 5:41.
Thanks to Ronnie for pacing me, again!

if i am having a bad day, tns means tew nia seng
if i am having a good day, tns means today no stress
the day before the race, tns means tonight no sex
if i am gonna have sex marathon with wife, tns means thrust non stop
if wife is having a bad day, tns means today no soup
if argue with wife, tns means tentatively no sex

After doing 4 laps and 1 lap time trial yesterday, I am pretty tired today.
Would prefer a running companion if I am running that is.
Jamie called around 6pm and said something like he must run today, ah just nice.
We started off the 1st lap at a easy pace 8.46.
2nd lap 8.04.
By the 3rd lap Jamie quicken his pace.
The distance between us getting bigger.
I feel that Jamie has this ability to quicken his pace without showing it in his running form.
Or perhaps it could be my lack of running observation skills.
3rd lap 7.24 for me, by now Jamie was already about 10metres ahead.
I maintained my pace.
Jamie continued to press the accelerator and I suspect his engine has turbo capabilities.
He was out of sight!
I completed the 4th lap in 7.20.
Jamie completed in 5.51, his 1 lap pr!
Congrats Jamie.
26 May 2006
My legs and arms still aching today.
Dinesh is attempting his 1 lap pr (5.30 below) today.
Any supporters? Pls go lah if you can.
All the best Dinesh.

1 lap time trial
24 May 2006
We were supposed to do long slow run, Jamie and I. Because Wednesdays Jamie can leave at 5pm instead of 6pm for the rest of the days. My 5pm is on Friday. I wanted to join Jamie and that would mean asking permission from my boss. My boss seems to be moody and busy. And I cannot hide the fact that I am leaving early to go for a run because I change and keep my stuff in the office and he sits right in front of me. Around 5pm Jamie called and I told him to go ahead. Few minutes later I have somehow gathered enough courage and asked my boss that I would like to leave early. Changed immediately and headed out to KLCC, hoping to catch Jamie. In the end Jamie did not turn up. I should have called Jamie before leaving but I didn't because I did not want to disturb him if he had started running. I stretch and stretch waiting for Jamie. After a while I thought I might as well start first. Ran 2 laps. Stop. Stretch. Wait. Still no Jamie. Ran another lap. Ronnie and Aeow turned up. Ran 1 lap with them. Ronnie wanted Aeow and I to do 1 lap time trial. Aeow was game but I had doubts. Many doubts. I had just finish my antibiotics on Monday and just ran 4 laps. After much encouraging words from Ronnie or was it pressure I said ok lah. Ronnie wanted me to start off first and then he and Aeow will catch up since they were faster runners. Ronnie said this would make it interesting and more encouraging. Ronnie has more experience in such matters and so we abided. I start to run, like strides which I don't normally do. The thought of not being able to sustain the pace was there before I even started. All was fine until Aeow and Ronnie caught up. When they overtook I felt like it would not be possible for me to complete the lap, by running that is. I was out of breath, struggling with every stride. But I told myself I must complete the lap even if I have to slow down significantly. Ronnie was very helpful and encouraging. He said things like 400m to go only. Push. You can do it. Come on. Thanks Ronnie. The gap between them and me was getting bigger. Luckily we were about to reach the finish. Finally Aeow finished in 5:15:51 and I finished in 5:41:94. Congrats Aeow. Ronnie seems to have much energy left and both of them did a warm down jog. As for me, I did a warm down walk. Thanks to Aeow and Ronnie for pacing me.

pacesetters nb15km 2006
21 may 2006. In my opinion, this is THE race to run. The route is challenging and Pacesetters are wonderful organizers. This year NB (New Balance) provided a good running vest. You can tell because around 80% of the runners were wearing the NB vest. Weather was perfect throughout the race. Saw Adam, Buluman, Kevin, Joviet, Tey, Azwar, Lai, Ccube, Jamie, Lawrence, Kenneth, Ben, Mee Peng, Dinesh, Draco, Richard, P1, Ryan, Jessica, GalNexDoor and her dad before the race started. However, cannot locate Cheong and Mee Peng (Cheong's wife) was also looking for him. I had intended to pace with him. Gun off at 7am. I was pacing with Jamie since he mentioned he was gonna take it easy, so he says. And Kenneth said he is taking it easy too, so he says. Their easy has become my difficult or is it my impossible. Whatever it is, I am happy for the faster runners and runners that had improved their timings. True to his words Jamie was really taking it easy, in the begining that is, and I was able to keep pace. Exchange quite a few interesting words, its always nice to have good company. Jamie pick up pace from the hills onwards and I was plodding alone wondering where is Cheong. The route is very challenging, as in many hills and some pretty steep ones too. And this year the route has been changed to be even more difficult, I heard some say. I wasn't complaning, in fact I told myself, that is what makes it interesting and satisfying to complete. Bring it on Pacesetters, make it more difficult, that's not gonna keep me out. If I wanted easy, I would be in bed. I had to psych myself up to conquer the hills. Here comes the excuses. I have a bad flu for 2 weeks already. Plenty of phlegm in nose and mouth. Thick stuff like cendol. Seen 3 doctors. Currently still on antibiotics that is to be finished by May 22. I was pretty bored running alone, not feeling fit and not able to run fast. Just before the 2nd water station, spotted this slim lady wearing nice shorts with picture of monkeys all around and plain colour fitting vest. I overtook her and before I know it she overtook me. Feeling I should have said something the first time, this time I said out loud 'nice shorts, very inspiring indeed'. The old man beside me smiled, I guess he knew what I really meant. Almost immediately she adjusted her shorts, just like the foreign lady in KLIM 2006 when I complimented on her beautiful shorts too. Mmm...must be some global lady reflects thingy. No matter how they adjusted, the shorts still look beautiful. When I saw the '1km to go' marker I ran faster. By the the time I reached '400m to go' muscle pull on right leg. Stop. Stretched. Jog. By the time I crossed the finish line with arms raised, left calf cramp and had to embarassingly stop, stretch at the finish arch and hop to the officials. Finished in 1:36:14. Cheong had already completed in 1:33! Congrats Cheong! And the 2 fellas that were going easy, Jamie and Kenneth finished in 1:24 ! Had lots of watermelon and took maggi mee, twiggy and mineral water home. Cheong and wife was so kind to give me a lift home, despite me warning them that my shorts and vest were still wet. Will be back next year and hopefully will be able to follow the 'easy' fellas.
