These few days the weather is really fantastic! So very clear skies, each time I look up into the blue blue sky and white white clouds I feel like jumping up with joy. It was so amazingly clear that I noticed the white clouds even during the night. Jog 3 laps today. Met Ronnie and Lai. Ronnie had completed 8 laps when I got there but was kind enough to do 1 lap with. Thanks Ronnie. Coach Chan army of runners was also there. 'Army' not as in many runners but as in discipline runners in my opinion. It is always an enjoying sight to see these group of runners.

There is a pond near my apartment, probably the size of 3 football fields. I can see from my balcony, its covered completely with floating plants. Apparently its a place for some enthusiatic anglers, the amazing thing is, its also a fishing area to a group of cranes, but that was a few months ago. This area is now been cleared for development, squatter houses flatten and the pond being filled. This morning I saw the cranes gliding effortlessly towards the pond, about 10 of them, its a beautiful sight, quickly and curiously I stood watch. Upon reaching the pond, they did not descent instead they circled the area as though permission was not received to land. I could only assume that the cranes were confused, no greenery, almost dried pond, loud noisy trucks and bulldozers bustling,. After circling a few rounds, eventually they flew off, towards the direction away from my apartment. I felt sad and helpless. My thought was, what would become of these cranes?

Happy birthday!
17 Oct 2006
I am 41 today. At least I know my age, unlike the slave I read about that do not know his age and can only guess who his father is and his 'father' lets him get whipped by his workers. My dad is no saint but he would not let me get whipped. Thanks dad. Compared to such circumstances I am really very well off. I am blessed with a wonderful mom and dad, brothers and sisters, that have always been there for me. I am also blessed with having all you friends, having made an impact in my life. And if not, I would be receiving less sms and other forms of birthday greetings today. Friends that have been there through thick and thin, long and short (distance). I am also blessed with a beautiful wife that provided us with 2 wonderful sons. Which has test our patience everyday or is it more like almost every moment. My 2 sons are my source of pleasure and pain(when they say they prefer the mom), pride and shyness (when they start misbehaving in public), laughter and tears (when i pray that they would not come to harm), thin and fat (when all the leftover comes to me), etc etc etc. But really, I love them all the same, as they are mine to hug, kiss, smell, tickle, wrestle, carry, feed, provide, etc and everyday to tell them I love them. I tell or is it kid myself, I already have everything, but of course some say that I do not have a daughter, some say I do not have a marathon certificate, some say I am not a multimillionaire etc etc etc, I have to admit what they say is true but life is not fair as some also say, you can't have everything, and if this be true then I must say I already have everything.

!@#$%^&* haze
11 and 12 Oct 2006
Jog 4 laps and 5 laps respectively.
Fortunately the haze was not so bad on both evenings.
Felt good to jog both days, eventhough it was short distance.
It was also bcoz I know I was gonna have lots of food on Thu, Fri and Sat and also beer on Fri and Sat.
Buka puasa buffet at Nikko on Thu, vendor treat, surprised that for RM103 the whole place was still fully booked!
Was fortunate to have Cheong as running buddy on Thu.
We were jogging around 9 plus mins per lap, yeah 9 plus mins, slow, easy and enjoyable.
Cheong is really persistent and he will go the distance.
As far as I know he has always turn up and finish any race he registered!

weather report
10am Oct 05
It's a 'runnable' haze day!
This book was written more than 100 years ago, written by a slave,
yes by a slave who was purposely not taught how to read and write
but found a way to learn and wrote this book based on his life.
Separated from his mother at a very young age, the mom walk/run almost
every night for many miles to see him and rush back before light.
They were given only 1 or 2 clothings per year, slept on sand/mud,
worked hard but not paid and not well fed, beaten for slightest mistake or
sometimes for no mistake of the slave at all, wtf.

she bop
Oct 02
Amazingly yet another haze free day, nice after-cut-grass smell.
Managed only 3 laps as I started late.
By the time we finished the warm down lap it was already dark.
'what was our (Justin, Lai and Ronnie) pace ah?' Justin asked Lai.
Lai looking up as though the answer was in front of him, as though confirming a flight schedule or stock market prices or San Francisco coffee choices, almost instantly replied '4:45 per km pace'.
It was a wonderful sight to see Tey, Justin, Lai, Ronnie and Coach Chan runners.
The way they run so fast yet seem easy and relax and manage to do so for many laps is a real visual treat.
This is my 3rd week back into running but only run once a week (Mondays).
No muscle sore in calves and thighs.
I am glad I ran eventhough its only 3 laps.
